Meet the Manager
“Since joining B&M Care in 1998, and Ashlyns Care Home in Berkhamsted in 2000, I have strived to develop myself, my staff and my home in line with the company’s person-centred philosophy to deliver a standard of care that is highly regarded both in and around Berkhamsted. Over the years, B&M Care has encouraged me to undertake relevant training and education to further support my role as Home Manager, which includes: the ‘Leadership Matters in Person-centred Dementia Care’ programme (accredited by Alzheimer’s Society and Surrey University) and the Registered Managers Award (RMA).
Welcome to our wonderful family at Ashlyns – caring for generations of people throughout the decades.”
Diane Delicate – Home Manager
“Ashlyns is an incredible and very special place. As soon as I visited, I was impressed by the warmth, kindness and sincerity of everyone. And from the moment Dad arrived, the team at Ashlyns couldn’t do enough to make him feel at home. It was like he was a member of their family, and I felt it, too. I can tell that he was moved by the support, care and kindness he received.”
Daughter of Resident at Ashlyns
“An outstanding caring and pleasant environment. Residents are treated with compassion, care and respect and the staff seem genuinely interested in treating each resident as an individual. We enjoyed an excellent Sunday lunch with our friend served in a lovely environment.”
Friend of Resident at Ashlyns
“The support we received at Ashlyns made it all feel more manageable, more human. The kindness, dignity, and respect shown to my dad and to us as a family, will stay with me always”

Engagement and Wellbeing
Recognising that an individual should lead a fulfilling lifestyle and enjoy the occupations that are unique to them, person-centred engagement is at the heart of our day-to-day care practice.
Here at Ashlyns Care Home, we value and promote each resident’s wellbeing, independence and quality of life. Our Engagement Leads organise a variety of events and entertainment, with both individual and group activities available. We often have live musical performances, as well as themed dinner nights where residents can experience food and culture from around the world.
Our home is situated in acres of beautiful grounds, with plenty of accessible pathways as well as a traditional cottage, hand-built by Chairman Bill Hughes, which provides a private space for visitors in a nostalgic setting.
Every resident, in each B&M home, also has access to The Hideaway – a cosy countryside retreat with extensive grounds, and on-site Reminiscence Museum.
Our B&M Care Homes are designed to be all-inclusive experiences, that feel just like home. Your fees will include your laundry, dining, and 24/7 personalised care. Visit our Paying For Care page to learn more.
