Meet the Manager
“My career within care started in 1989 when I was appointed the role of Care Assistant in a care home setting close to Potters Bar, Hertfordshire – an opportunity that led to my promotion to Assistant Manager in 1993. 1999 was a landmark in my career, one that saw me progress on to become Acting Home Manager, before being appointed a registered Home Manager in 2004. With a great number of years’ experience, I felt confident enough to apply for the same role at The Lodge Care Home in Hemel Hempstead in 2014 – one that to-date has inspired me with a continual learning curve, and better fulfilled my passion for delivering person-specific residential and specialist dementia care.
Experience the warmth of our care home, where we blend compassionate, personalised care with a vibrant community to make you feel right at home and ensure you have a life of comfort and dignity whilst staying with us.”

Our dedicated Engagement Leads organise varied social calendars for events and entertainment, in groups and individually. Every resident experiences meaningful occupation, designed around their personal wishes and preferences.
Our energetic Engagement Lead knows each resident well and ensures that there is always something suitable for everyone – from day trips on a canal boat and pub nights in the home’s bar, to the live musical entertainers. The Lodge also has a ‘train simulator’ where residents can experience the sights and sounds of the beautiful English countryside while enjoying their tea.
Every resident, in each B&M home, also has access to The Hideaway – a cosy countryside retreat with extensive grounds, and on-site Reminiscence Museum.
Our B&M Care Homes are designed to be all-inclusive experiences, that feel just like home. Your fees will include your laundry, dining, and 24/7 personalised care. Visit our Paying For Care page to learn more.
