  • "No words will ever be enough to thank you for all the love and care you have shown to both my darling Mum & Dad, and also to me and my family. Your kindness and compassion will never be forgotten, and I thank each and every one of you from the bottom of my heart."

    Daughter of Residents

  • "I'm sure you know, my darling Mum passed away. I'm heartbroken that she is gone, but so grateful she was in your care. I have thanked you all so many times, but it's never enough. The love, care, kindness and compassion you have all shown, not only to Mum, but to every resident in your care is wonderful. I have spent so many hours with you all, and have been deeply moved and touched at the way you treat the residents with so much respect, while also striving to preserve their dignity. I will never stop singing the praises of The Lodge. "

    Daughter of Resident

  • "When Dad first arrived he was in quite a bad place (physically & mentally), but through everybody’s hard work and care, this was turned around in a matter of weeks and we were absolutely delighted with how he improved in such a short space of time. Involving Dad in the various activities, feeding him well and engaging with him played such a big part in his recovery which gave us so much comfort knowing that he was being so well looked after. All of the staff were always very courteous, obviously very caring and always replied to messages, updated us regularly on any health matters and always found time to fit us in for a visit on short notice. We definitely made the right decision in moving Dad to The Lodge."

    Son of Resident

  • "I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for making the last years of my Mother's life so very happy. You were all a substitute [family] during Covid when we couldn't visit - and made her 100th and 101st birthdays days to remember. I'm so glad we finally got to see her as a family, in-person. I know it's not always an easy job, but you should all be proud of the work you do at The Lodge. "

    Daughter of Resident

  • "My Mother came to The Lodge after being in hospital at the start of the pandemic in 2020. She is now a permanent resident and enjoys being in the home. She is safe and cared for, all the staff are lovely and work very hard to support the residents every single day. My Mother enjoys the food choices and is involved in many of the activities that are on offer. It is a great relief to us, as a family, that she is there."

    Daughter of Resident

  • "I am writing to say that it was so lovely to see Mum yesterday, and to thank all the team at The Lodge for looking after her so well. It's such a relief to know she is safe and cared for. We had a lovely chat and I have not seen her looking so well for a very long time."

    Daughter of Resident

  • "Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all you do for Mum and all the other residents. I'm truly grateful. I know your work is very often challenging, exhausting and repetitive, so to remain cheerful and enthusiastic as you do must often be difficult. But you all do it! You're 'simply the best'!"

    Daughter of Resident

  • "Just wanted to say thank you for the wonderful welcome and care you have shown to Mum during her first few days at The Lodge. Your empathy towards me has also been amazing and I’m so grateful to you all."

    Daughter of Resident

  • "Thank you very much for all the care and attention you gave our Mum when she was a resident with you. We appreciate all the help and support you have given us in these very trying circumstances. Wishing you all the best for the future."

    Daughter of Resident

  • "I want to say a big thank you to you all for arranging my Mother's 100th birthday. I know she really enjoyed herself and we were glad it all went so well as we couldn't be there in person. Also, a big thank you for all you do generally - I know it's been very hard."

    Daughter of Resident

  • "My Mother is happy at The Lodge. The standard of care is exceptional and staff are approachable, kind, and treat everyone with dignity and respect. The home has dealt extremely well during the COVID crisis, and has been a 'tower of strength'."

    Daughter of Resident

  • "From the day I contacted The Lodge, to the first visit, you [provided] great 'front of house' - smiley faces and a cheery hello. You will never know how reassuring that was. Thank you so much."

    Daughter of Resident

  • "I went to see my Mum two weeks ago. She looked well and just the same as before the lockdown. It was lovely to see her. Everything was so well organised and pleasant. Please pass on my thanks to everybody and of course, Sarah [Engagement Lead], who was present at the time."

    Daughter of Resident

  • "I would like to thank you very much for all the kindness, help & care you gave to Mum whilst she was with you, as well as the compassion shown to myself during Mum's last few weeks."

    Daughter of Resident

  • "Such a lovely place with beautiful bedrooms and communal living spaces. The nicest home we have seen so far!"

    Visitor

  • "I would like to express my heartfelt thanks for the amazing care that my husband received. We were so anxious when he was first admitted - would they take good enough care of him? Our fears were thankfully not realised. I visited daily and soon came to know of the true care and compassion routinely administered at The Lodge. Your care and compassion extended to myself, especially during my husband's last few weeks. The Lodge is a truly outstanding care home."

    Wife of Resident

  • "I would like to say a big thank you to you all for the care you took in looking after my Mother. Everyone was always very kind and understanding."

    Daughter of Resident

  • "Your approach to caring for people living with a dementia is refreshing and allows for the connection with the person. Within the family, dementia was becoming a barrier and you provided us with a better model of relating. We are learning from you!"

Our Staff

The Lodge Care Home has a select team of experienced care staff who have each undertaken bespoke training to meet the individual needs of the home's residents. The home provides appropriate ratios of staff both day and night, alongside a day-to-day care ethos that delivers highly-personalised care where dignity, freedom and privacy are consistently upheld. With an industry-envied training programme and ongoing support & development, B&M Care's guiding principles are what define our staff within the dementia care sector.
“My career within care started in 1989 when I was appointed the role of Care Assistant in a care home setting close to Potters Bar, Hertfordshire – an opportunity that led to my promotion to Assistant Manager in 1993. 1999 was a landmark in my category, one that saw me progress on to become Acting Home Manager, before being appointed a registered Home Manager in 2004. With a great number of years’ experience, I felt confident enough to apply for the same role at The Lodge in 2014 – one that to-date inspired me with a continual learning curve, and better fulfilled my passion for delivering person-specific residential and specialist dementia care.”
Lisa Pinner - Home Manager
