Our Staff

Tara's Retreat has a select team of experienced care staff who have each undertaken bespoke training to meet the individual needs of the home's residents. The home provides appropriate ratios of staff both day and night, alongside a day-to-day care ethos that delivers highly-personalised care where dignity, freedom and privacy are consistently upheld. With an industry-envied training programme and ongoing support & development, B&M Care's guiding principles are what define our staff within the dementia care sector.
“I was appointed as Home Manager at Tara’s Retreat in 2017 after working in the same position at B&M Care’s sister home in St Albans, Clare Lodge. Like many other B&M Care Home Managers, I started my career as a Care Assistant and progressed ‘through the ranks’ to Deputy Manager. In addition to my experience, I have completed a number of qualifications, including several NVQs in Health & Social Care, as well as the ‘Champion of Dementia Care’ programme run in conjunction with Alzheimer’s Society.”
Karen Langley - Home Manager
“I started my B&M Care journey at Tara’s Retreat in 2007 as a Care Assistant. With the support of the management team, coupled with my genuine passion for delivering the highest standard of person-centred care that I can, I received several promotions, including my most recent one to Deputy Manager in 2017. Throughout my career at B&M Care, I have successfully achieved a number of qualifications: an NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care; Infection Control Champion programme; and the company’s in-house Management Development Pathway.”
Lynette Parker - Deputy Manager
Jocelyn Ramsey - Assistant Manager
