Meet the Manager
“I worked in retail management before starting my career in social care as a Care Assistant in 1998. I decided to pursue a career in a field that I felt had purpose, and was more meaningful, so far as to make a positive difference in the lives of older people. During these years I qualified as a trainer, which fast became my primary role within the care home setting; supporting staff to provide best practice and excellence in care standards. This cultivated my promotion to Deputy Manager – a position that I held for 10 years before joining B&M Care in August 2021 as Home Manager of Clare Lodge Care Home in St Albans.
Welcome to Clare lodge, a real home away from home, where community spirit and your wellbeing are our priority.”
Gina Edwards – Home Manager
“Clare Lodge, the manager and the whole team working there have been absolutely wonderful, not only to my brother but to my daughter and myself, helping us out at an extremely stressful time. Everyone has been most welcoming. The care home cat adds to the family feel.”
Son of Resident at Clare Lodge
“A wonderful home where all residents have superb care. Residents are treated with respect and dignity. I have visited people here for many months and the welcome and support is superb. I visit several other care homes in this area, they are not a patch on Clare Lodge Care Home.”
Local Vicar
“They have provided a clean, safe and welcoming environment. My mum enjoys interacting with the other residents as well as getting involved in the range of activities provided. She is encouraged to be as independent as possible and is calm, content and happy. The home is well-led and the quality of care is excellent..”

We made the most of the final day of August with a trip to St Albans Museum + Gallery, exploring an exhibition celebrating the stories and experiences of local residents and community gardeners.
After a morning spent reading the displays, we finished our outing with coffee at Waterend Barn and discovered more about the history of this beautiful building.
A lovely day in our local community. 🖼️
