  • "[Resident] is settling in remarkably well at Lakeside. She has a lovely room overlooking allotments, and has been busy playing darts, doing small exercises, and borrowing books from the home’s mobile library service. What was evident was that Lakeside makes a significant effort to keep residents engaged, including daily one-to-one discussions. The management team is very focussed and run the home extremely well. All in all, very successful so far and I would recommend it."

  • "Thank you all so much for the care you provided Mum during her stay at Lakeside. She was very apprehensive moving into somewhere new - especially with her lack of eyesight - but that was helped by all the assistance she was given by staff and residents. She told us that she felt at home and had a lovely time, we are all so grateful for that. As a family we were delighted with the compassion shown in Mum's care - we can't thank you enough."

    Family of Resident

  • "We want to express our appreciation for all that you did for Mum during her time with you. It has been a great comfort to know that she was safe and well cared for. Thank you so much for all your care and kindness."

    Daughter of Resident

  • "It is in times of crisis, good leaders emerge! Strong mind, strong heart! Keep going Magda and Lakeside."

  • "Thank you very much for allowing me to undertake my work experience at Lakeside. I would especially like to thank all the staff who helped and supported me during my placement. I especially enjoyed all the activities such as singing, films, puzzle games, art and crafts, and card-making. I think these kinds of activities really help the home's residents feel happy and healthy."

  • "My Mother came to Lakeside in 2015 following a period of respite care in another home. We were immediately struck by how relaxed she seemed following what we anticipated would be an uprooting and unsettling move. Her bedroom was nicely decorated and furnished and she quickly settled into her new surroundings. It was the quality of staff that also stood out. Most importantly staff respected the residents and treated them with utmost dignity. There was huge affection shown to my mother and great efforts made to meet her needs. The care was superb at the end of life."

    Family of Resident

  • "This is a special thank you to all the staff at Lakeside for the care and kindness given to me during my stay with you."

    Respite Resident

  • "I would like to thank you for the excellent care received by my late Mother. The staff have always been amazing. Their tender, constant and professional care was appreciated by all of us. They are a credit to both Lakeside and B&M Care."

Our Staff

Lakeside Care Home has a select team of experienced care staff who have each undertaken bespoke training to meet the individual needs of the home's residents. The home provides appropriate ratios of staff both day and night, alongside a day-to-day care ethos that delivers highly-personalised care where dignity, freedom and privacy are consistently upheld. With an industry-envied training programme and ongoing support & development, B&M Care's guiding principles are what define our staff within the dementia care sector.

Since joining Lakeside in 2012 as a Care Assistant, B&M Care has supported and developed Magda's career, resulting in a number of promotions, including her most recent appointment to Home Manager in December 2018. With a degree in Photography, and an NVQ Level 5 in Health & Social Care, Magda's education has encouraged her to combine theory-based practice with her passion for creativity, which ultimately encourages both her, and her team, to deliver something truly unique within the home.
