Meet the Manager
“I was appointed Home Manager in August 2022 and bring with me 26 years’ experience of working in the care industry. Starting out my B&M Care career as a Senior Carer, I went on to gain further experience before returning to the B&M family to lead the team at the beautiful Chesham Bois Manor Care Home in Chesham – I finally feel like I am home again. I have gained many skills throughout my years and have several qualifications including a Level 5 in Health and Social Care. I have genuine empathy and compassion for ensuring that anyone in my care feels empowered and in control of their lives and decisions, embracing the wonderful ethos that B&M promotes. Career highlights include campaigning for people who live with dementia, raising awareness, and working hard to change negative perceptions, charity fundraising events for Dementia UK, and being nominated by families and awarded the SHEINSPIRES award in 2021 for dedication to care.
My passion for care is something very important to me and by setting this example it reminds my team why they are employed within the care industry. The care team are the heartbeat of the home here at Chesham, and they are what make our home a truly special place.”

Our Response
The CQC inspection at Chesham Bois Manor recognised that residents felt safe and well cared for, with staff described as kind and attentive. Positive leadership, improved staffing stability, and strong healthcare access were also noted.
Areas for improvement included communication, activities, best interests decision-making, and aspects of training and record-keeping. These were addressed through appointing an additional engagement lead, strengthening care planning and staff training, and enhancing oversight and governance systems.
We remain committed to continuous improvement and transparent, high-quality person-centred care.

“The staff have all been excellent. They are committed, caring and very empathetic to their residents. They often go above and beyond their duties, staying past their shift end time in order to help with a resident’s particular issues. They prioritise pushing fluids and regular snacks throughout the day as well. The home holds regular events to keep the residents engaged as well. Overall, it feels like a very happy place when you visit.”

Here at Chesham Bois Manor Care Home in Chesham, engagement and wellbeing is at the heart of our person-centred approach to care. Our dedicated Engagement Leads organise varied social calendars for events and entertainment, in groups and individually. Every resident experiences meaningful occupation, designed around their personal wishes and preferences.
The excellent Engagement Team ensures that the home is always decorated appropriately during every season, and that there is always something special happening such as an a cappella choir and school children who come to visit regularly. Nestled in the grounds is a traditional cottage, hand-built by Chairman Bill Hughes, which provides a private space for visitors in a nostalgic setting.
Every resident, in each B&M home, also has access to The Hideaway – a cosy countryside retreat with extensive grounds, and on-site Reminiscence Museum.
