About The Radley Care Home in Borehamwood
The Radley Care Home in Borehamwood is a purpose-built development located on the old MGM-British Studios site. The home is within easy reach of local amenities, as well as Elstree’s BBC Television Studios.
As one of B&M Care’s complex dementia hubs, we provide specialist support for people living with additional dementia-related needs. Alongside this specialist focus, the home also provides residential care, specialist dementia care, early onset dementia care, care for couples and respite care.

Meet the Manager
“With over 30 years of experience in the care sector, I have dedicated my career to delivering exceptional care across nursing, residential, domiciliary, and dementia care. Since joining B&M Care in 2018, I have had the privilege of serving as Care Manager at Milford Lodge, where I developed a deep understanding of the organisation’s commitment to person-centred care.
In 2023, I proudly completed B&M Care’s Leadership Pathway, further equipping me with the skills and knowledge to lead and inspire my team. As Home Manager at The Radley, I am passionate about setting high standards and leading by example, particularly in the field of dementia care, which I believe is crucial to enhancing the quality of life for residents.
I am excited to guide The Radley through its next chapter of growth and innovation, ensuring we continue to provide a nurturing and empowering environment for both residents and staff.”

The Radley is a Complex Dementia Care Hub
Dementia care is evolving. As people live longer, many come into care with more complex dementia needs that require a higher level of specialist support. At The Radley, our Complex Dementia Care Hub provides a calm, secure and highly specialised environment for people living with advanced or more challenging forms of dementia.
The Radley is purpose-designed to support individuals whose symptoms, behaviours or emotional needs have become too complex to manage in a traditional residential or dementia care setting. Our highly trained team supports residents who may experience significant behavioural changes, heightened anxiety, or complex physical and emotional needs as dementia progresses.
Alongside complex dementia care, The Radley also offers tailored support for enhanced dementia needs and early onset dementia, including for people under the age of 65, ensuring every resident receives care that is truly personalised, compassionate and responsive.
Our Response
The Radley Care Home welcomes the June 2023 CQC findings, which recognised our compassionate, person-centred care and the positive experiences of residents who feel safe, happy, and respected. The report highlighted our inclusive culture, strong relationships, and commitment to promoting independence, dignity, and choice.
Areas for improvement were identified in medicines monitoring, health auditing, and safeguarding awareness. These have been addressed through strengthened audits, enhanced training, and improved health monitoring systems.
We remain committed to continuous improvement and high-quality care.

From baking and painting to weekly group takeaways, a wide range of activities is always available, carefully adapted to ensure inclusivity and engagement for those requiring additional dementia support.
Our creative Engagement Leads routinely arrange fêtes for the local community, invite interesting guests for visits, and loves to accompany residents for fun shopping trips. Every resident across our B&M homes also has access to The Hideaway, a cosy countryside retreat with extensive grounds, and on-site Reminiscence Museum. This unique space supports therapeutic engagement and memory-led experiences, particularly benefiting those living with complex dementia.
