Berkhamsted: Living Well with Dementia
Event date: 16/01/2024

Do you know someone living with a dementia?
Join B&M Care on Tuesday 16th January 2024 (10:30am) at Ashlyns Care Home in Berkhamsted for the group's CPD-accredited Living Well with Dementia Seminar.
B&M Care’s Living Well with Dementia Seminar is a free-of-charge event.
About This Event
Supporting someone living with a dementia can be a rewarding and satisfying experience, but here at B&M Care, we recognise that when that someone is a loved one, it can be challenging - and often easy to overlook your own needs as a caregiver.
During this two-hour session, B&M Care's Dementia Lead Caroline Inch (BSc (Hons) Dementia Studies) will speak more in-depth about what dementia is, and offer valuable insight into how you can support your loved one to live well with a dementia at home. There is also an opportunity to share your own experiences, and ask any questions you may have.
This seminar is perfect for those caring for a friend, parent or another loved one at home, or for anyone else directly affected by dementia.
After this seminar, you will:
- Understand more about dementia, how a dementia can affect a person, and the many types of dementia
- Learn how to provide person-centred care at home
- Develop understanding around what makes a good dementia environment
- Find out more about the support that is available to you within the community
- Learn more about the short-term care options available (to give both you and the person being cared for a break)
- See how B&M Care supports an individual living with a dementia
