The Radley in Borehamwood has been awarded gold membership status by the Hertfordshire Care Providers Association (HCPA).

As an existing silver subscriber, the enhanced membership is a result of a working partnership that has seen the home meet specific criteria set out by the Welwyn-based association.

Taking almost a year to complete, outcomes included:

• Scheduling regular quality assurance surveys (completed by both staff and residents)
• Completing actions set out by HCPA (around themes such as training, safeguarding, and best practice)
• Having HCPA-trained Champions in place (of which the home has five, including a ‘Falls’, ‘Nutrition’, and an ‘Infection Control’ Champion)
• Demonstrating strong and inspirational leadership and coaching
• Achieving an overall ‘Good’ Care Quality Commission (CQC) rating

Benefits of HCPA’s Gold Membership include: wider access to Scils-based learning and remote training; regular culture and competency checks; and use of toolkits that support documentation that can be used for both prospective families and regulatory authorities.
