Friday 17th June saw St Andrews Care Home in Welwyn attend the Hertfordshire Care Providers Association's (HCPA) Hertfordshire Care Awards as a finalist in the ‘Outstanding Leadership’ category.
Hosted at Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter, the event took place under the iconic arches of Platform 9 ¾ adjacent to the franchise’s red steam locomotive, the Hogwarts Express.
Aside from an opportunity to explore the wonders of the Wizarding World, the event looked to highlighting excellence in care, pride of role, and other outstanding contributions that positively flourish the lives of those living in a care home environment.
Although St Andrews didn’t win the award, the ‘Outstanding Leadership’ category recognised the home for demonstrating shared values across its management staff team who, thanks to each member’s commitment to vision, response and resolve, continues to lead a distinguished frontline workforce.
Made up of a total of eight categories including, ‘Most Innovative Team’, ‘Contribution to Care’ and ‘Outstanding Achievement’, each award looked at recognising and rewarding the very best talent within social care in Hertfordshire.
“Thank you HCPA for a truly fantastic evening! Aside from the backdrop of Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter, what made the evening what it was, was being surrounded by talented and inspiring people,” said St Andrews Care Home Manager, Barbara Gibula.
“Although St Andrews didn’t win the award, it was wonderful knowing that we, as a team, have been recognised, especially after the past couple of years. A role within social care is rewarding enough, but to be officially recognised for simply ‘doing your job’, well, it’s so special.”
“On behalf of St Andrews and B&M Care, we would like to once again congratulate By Your Side on winning the ‘Outstanding Leadership’ category.”
The HCPA Hertfordshire Care Awards were originally scheduled for December 2021, but due to the pandemic, were postponed to June 2021.
