Mental Health Awareness Week serves as a powerful reminder of the profound significance of mental wellbeing in our lives. At B&M Care, we wholeheartedly recognise the importance of prioritising mental health and are deeply committed to providing a comprehensive range of support systems for our incredible employees. We firmly believe that by nurturing the wellbeing of our staff, we enhance the quality of care we provide to our residents.

Our staff's wellbeing is of great importance to us, as it impacts all that we do within our homes for our residents. Emma Norris, B&M Care’s Head of Human Resources who leads on Employee Wellbeing & Culture, told us “We understand that any one of us can experience periods of low mental health, and as an employer, we want staff to know that this is not a taboo subject. We are here to support and listen to them at all times.”

We are dedicated to creating a workplace culture where mental health is openly discussed and supported. We firmly believe that no one should feel isolated or hesitant to seek assistance when facing mental health challenges. Our compassionate team is committed to providing a safe and non-judgmental space for every staff member.

Within our organisation, each of our homes is privileged to have dedicated Wellbeing Champions. These wonderful individuals are there to lend a listening ear, extend a helping hand, and ensure that every staff member feels seen, valued, and supported. They embody our commitment to promoting wellbeing and serve as an invaluable resource on your personal journey toward mental wellness.

In addition, we are proud to operate a regular Wellbeing Hotline— this is confidential and offers essential support whenever you may need it. Whether you seek guidance, a heartfelt conversation, or simply a safe space to express your thoughts and concerns, our dedicated team is just a phone call away. Your wellbeing matters to us, and we are here to walk alongside you, providing the support you need.

Your dedication and commitment to providing exceptional care for our residents inspires us every day. As part of our employee benefits package, we are delighted to offer Blue Light Cards, granting access to incredible high street discounts. Moreover, we proudly recognise outstanding care through our Recognition Awards, celebrating your unwavering commitment and the incredible work that we do.

During this week, we invite you to explore the multitude of wellbeing resources available to you, reach out to your caring Wellbeing Champion or utilise our trusted Wellbeing Hotline. Remember, you are never alone on this journey—we are here, ready to support and listen to you at all times.

When we embrace mental health awareness, we empower our employees to shine, make a difference, and create a positive impact on the lives of our residents. We want to continue building a supportive community where everyone can thrive. Together, let's cultivate a culture that destigmatises mental health challenges.
