St Leonards Care Home is ideally situated within 1 mile of Aylesbury town centre and close to the village of Wendover in Buckinghamshire. St Leonards is a purpose built home, built over two floors around a stylish courtyard and gardens.

The Care We Offer

St Leonards Care Home provides care for elderly residents. We offer several types of stay depending on the level of support required - from long-term residential care to short stay and respite breaks. The home has two environments for residents depending on the level of care required. Beeches provides residential care whilst The Willows is a safe, comfortable environment that specialise in the care of older people living with a dementia.

St Leonards has a select team of experienced staff, who have relevant and appropriate training to meet the needs of the residents. B&M Care has one of the most envied staff training programmes in the industry. We provide high ratios of staff both day and night. The emphasis of our care delivery is on individually planned person centred care, which builds upon a person's strengths and constantly seeks to improve their quality of life. Freedom and privacy are respectfully maintained, yet help is always on hand.

Nicky

Nicky Cahill

Manager

Nicky was appointed Manager at St Leonards in August 2015 and comes to us with many years' experience in the care field. Nicky started her career in care as an auxiliary nurse in 1988, going on to become the manager of a care home for several years. She spent five years as an inspector with the Care Quality Commission but went back into care home management in 2007. Nicky has continued to study over the years and has gained her BSc (hons) in Health and Social Care and an MSc in Leadership and Management. She has also completed her Leadership in Dementia Care and is a registered 'Dignity Champion' and 'Dementia Friend'.
Isabel

Isabel Jeffrey

Deputy Manager

Isabel has an NVQ 2 and 3 and has worked at St Leonards since 2004. She has 3 years experience in nursing care prior to joining St Leonards and is now starting her LMC.
Galina

Galina Papazova

Assistant Manager

Galina has worked at St Leonards since 2010 when joined as a Senior Care Assistant with 8 years experience as a senior carer in a nursing home. She was a Team Leader at St Leonards before her promotion to Assistant Manager in 2014. Galina has gained NVQ level 3 and in 2013 completed the Leadership and Management level 5 qualification. Galina is from Bulgaria where she worked as a physiotherapist for 32 years.
Kathleen

Kathleen Gilroy

Team Leader

Kathleen joined B&M Care in May 2015 as a Senior Care Assistant and was then promoted to Team Leader. She has completed leadership and management training as part of her development and is currently studying for her level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care. She has undertaken the Alzheimer's Society training 'Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow' as well as completing various dementia courses.
Ruth

Ruth Webster

Engagement Lead

Ruth has worked in the care sector for over 30 years: initially in a variety of childcare settings including children’s home, hospital and nurseries. Having made the transfer to adult care, she thoroughly enjoys engaging with clients and residents – hearing about their experiences and fascinating life stories. With a strong work ethic and an understanding of the importance of person centred planning, Ruth is committed to working with residents, their families and the staff to plan a range of interesting and fun activities and events.

Debbie McCauley

Debbie has previously been a senior care assistant at St Leonards. She has worked at the home since 2004 and has achieved her NVQ 2.
  • Purpose-built 45 bed residential and dementia care home built over two floors
  • Bedrooms: All rooms are offered as single en-suite. Some rooms have direct patio/garden access and all of the rooms may be personalised.
  • Dining: All dining and refreshments are fully inclusive. Residents may take meals in a choice of dining areas or if they wish, in the privacy of their own room. Our skilled chef prepares an extensive range of appetising home cooked meals, taking into account nutritional balances and any specific dietary requirements or individual preferences. There is always a choice of menu with refreshments and snacks available 24hrs.

Life at St Leonards Care Home is very much home from home and an active lifestyle is encouraged, with friends and relatives always welcome. There is an activities and lifestyle facilitator that arranges a varied social calendar of activities and entertainment. With a focus on one to one activities, they ensure that each of the residents engage in meaningful occupation tailored to who they are.
