B&M Investments Ltd was established in 1972 by Mr William John Hughes (Chairman) who purchased his very first home, Clare Lodge in St Albans, in 1975.
White Plains in Denham opened in 1977 and, by 1988, the tenth and final home to be opened in the B&M Investments Ltd group, Greenhill in Potters Bar was opened. In 1988 a subsidiary company, Colleycare Ltd was formed and all new-build or acquisition homes were purchased under this new name.
In 1995, the name B&M Care was introduced to the B&M Investments Ltd/Colleycare Ltd group to bring a 'caring for people' emphasis into the company's name and highlighting a caring corporate image.
B&M Care at present comprises a group of eighteen residential homes situated in Hertfordshire, Northamptonshire, Berkshire and Buckinghamshire.
With more than thirty years of experience, B&M Care have built a reputation for providing quality residential care. B&M Care are dedicated to and are constantly improving both the quality of care and accommodation available to their residents.
The organisation also incorporates a building division, Maynecol Services Limited which was established in 1984. Maynecol build new homes and ensure that an active programme of refurbishment and upgrading is available for each home, therefore continually providing a high standard of comfort for residents and staff.
B&M Care homes are architecturally designed to take advantage of the features of each location. Some are purpose built others are high quality conversions with a domestic character. We have adopted an approach of continually improving our design of homes and feeding back our experience of caring for the elderly in future projects.
In September 2001 B&M opened a new venture, The Fledglings Day Nursery and Pre-School, on the Ashlyns site at Berkhamsted. Followed by a second nursery located at Chequer Lane in Redbourn in 2004.
