in praise of the standard of care.....
I have been particularly impressed by the manner in which all staff ensure that the residents are treated as individuals, even when, sadly their cognition has finally failed. Staff spend time speaking to residents in respectful and affectionate terms, gently assisting them to whatever degree of understanding remains. Even when dealing with residents who exhibit challenging behaviour through their dementia, staff remain calm, caring and concerned.
Having observed meal times, it is heartening to note the quality and range of food together with the level of service and assistance provided to residents.
Such good practices extend from the manager through to the part-time staff. It is clear that caring is very much the ethos of the home. It is a home in which my mother lives, not an institution and for that I can only give all the staff my most heartfelt thanks. In terms of caring, concerned, friendly, competent, willing and able staff you may possibly find examples as good as Tremona; you will find none better.
