Tremona is situated in a quiet residential road, a short distance from Watford town centre. The beautiful Cassiobury parklands and Whippendale woods are also close by. Tremona offers long term residential care and short stay respite breaks for older people. The home specialises in the care of older people with dementia related needs and is a safe and secure environment.

The existing Tremona care home closes in February 2012 to make way for a brand new purpose built home built on the same site. The new Tremona will have 44 en-suite bedrooms, a choice of lounge and dining areas, an activities room, hair salon, therapy room, conservatory and beautiful landscaped gardens, patios and easy access pathways.

I have been particularly impressed by the manner in which all staff ensure that the residents are treated as individuals, even when, sadly their cognition has finally failed.  Staff spend time speaking to residents in respectful and affectionate terms, gently assisting them to whatever degree of understanding remains.  Even when dealing with residents who exhibit challenging behaviour through their dementia, staff remain calm, caring and concerned.
