St Andrews prides itself in providing the very highest standards in personalised, specialist care to all of its residents and the staff work hard to ensure the residents feel fully at home.
The home offers single en-suite bedrooms, which they actively encourage residents to personalise. Some rooms have an extra shower facility.
Depending on an individual's specific requirements, St Andrews offers differing levels of care within different areas of the home. Galway House and Gleneagles House provides residential care. Conwy House and Windsor House offers care to those with dementia related needs, including individual and organised activities. Specialist residential care is provided in surroundings specifically designed for residents with high levels of dependency. This environment also provides easy access to our spacious ground for our more physically active residents.
St Andrews is accredited with Hertfordshire County Council in recognition of its outstanding dementia care.
St Andrews offers residents a choice of lounges and dining areas. A period style parlour known as The Cosy Snug is a relaxing area and a themed reminiscence room known as The Scullery in Conwy House is used for cooking, painting and activities. The beautifully manicured gardens at St Andrews offer a safe environment, with easy access for outdoor activities.
St Andrews offers long term residential care and short stay respite breaks for older people. The home specialises in the care of older people with dementia related needs and benefits from a safe dementia environment.
The home's Activities Co-ordinator arranges a varied social calendar of meaningful, appropriate activities and entertainment, including trips to places of interest. The home has strong links with the Duke of Edinburgh students of Stanborough School and also Lakeside School who are working towards their Bronze Awards and also with The Princes Trust who support in projects and games with St Andrews.
