Despite being hounded by the press, Anne Main, MP for St Albans found the time in a hectic schedule and between surgeries, to open B&M Care’s newest care home for older people, Clare Lodge on 22nd May 2009.
St Albans City and parish councillors and the newly elected Deputy Mayor Iqbal Zie and his wife were among the invited guests that joined the residents, and staff for the celebration opening event.
Clare Lodge Manager Elaine Ward, said “many of our residents have lived all their lives in St Albans and we all look forward to continuing to enjoy an active role in the community”.
Anne congratulated B&M Care chairman Bill Hughes for having “the passion to go with his heart” when he decided to re-build Clare Lodge instead of selling.
