Finalists: Brenda Stevens, B&M Care; Simon Hughlock, Four Seasons; Julie Sellick, Majesticare; Paul Ratcliffe, Morris Care
Clare Lodge’s Cook, Brenda Stevens was chosen from hundreds of entries as a Finalist for Care Chef 2011 in this year’s National Care Awards. Brenda was amongst 4 finalists that were asked to a Judging Day to impress the panel with their skills. Brenda had to plan a three course meal within a £5 budget and then cook that meal for the judges. Brenda’s menu included: a Salmon Pate with Melba Toast to start, followed by Pan-Fried Chicken Livers with Smokey Bacon, Baby Shalots and home-made crispy Croquets and then to finish an Apricot Sponge with Crème Anglaise. The Judges seemed to like it because her plates were cleaned up!
But the finalists will have to wait until the Gala Awards Night on 25th November to find out who has won the award. The event, hosted by John Sergeant will be at the prestigious Hilton Metropole Hotel in London.
The Care Awards are run by The Caring Times is a national care industry competition that attracts hundreds of applicants.
